The Middle School and High School students share a bus stop so it was neat to have Maranda (Brenda's daughter) and Cianna (Laura's daughter) at the same stop.
Breanna is looking forward to a great year. She was accepted into the School of Fine Arts and will have the opportunity to concentrate on her passion and gift God has given her. She was one of 20 students accepted into the program.
Olivia has counted down the days and woke up this morning saying..."Is today the day for school???!!!" All ready to go and a bit nervous as they wait for Maddy and Logan's bus. This is Logan's first year in the secondary school with Maddy so, he started at a new school as well.
One of the blessings not seen is this picture is our friend Brenda. She ran around to the bus stops taking pictures of all the kids...our RGC kiddos on the street. There was much excitement and many nerves. A lump in my own throat most of the morning...and all day!
There they go......
Look at those awesome smiling kids in the window waving! God is so good, look at all what He has done in our little community. Caden and Titus waving frantically.
3 down and one to go.....sniff, sniff. How did THIS happen?
She had my hand gripped and looked up and asked..."will you go with me mommy?" She let go and on she went very brave and with lots of courage and my tears...couldn't stop.
She plopped down next to Caressa. I am so thankful she had a friend to sit with on the way to school.
The house was uncomfortably quiet. A few times I got up to see what I was hearing and it was the birds chirping outside or the air conditioner making noise as it came on. I just felt like I was missing something all day long...waiting for that little voice to say mom, will you play with me? It was perhaps the longest, most emotional day I have had as a mama.
Maddy and Logan got off the bus first. They had much to talk about and filled us in on all the details of the day. They both had great days and like their new classes. They joined us at the bus stop anxiously waiting for Olivia's bus to arrive (it was very late..over 30 minutes due to some logistical stuff!)
I think she grew while she was at school today hehe! I just couldn't wait to squeeze my little girl.
I just couldn't squeeze her tight enough...what a tired little "sweet pea". We all asked her a million questions all night long. So much happened in her little life today.
Some neighbors join us at the bus stop so they could hear all about her day as well.
All the kids ran straight into Breanna's room and one by one took the opportunity to talk about the day. BTW, Breanna had a good day as well. We are still learning about the Fine Arts School and all the details.
I just had to put this sticky note on here...my neighbor Beth brought over treats for the kids for the first day of school. So sweet and very thoughtful. I was pleasantly overwhelmed getting texts from other neighbors/friends checking on the kiddo's first morning.
I am thankful
